Say “Cheese!”

Cursed with a strong sense of morbid curiosity and an ill-timed SMS from a friend mocking something she heard on the show, I had the misfortune of tuning into NDTV Imagine’s recent hit “Rakhi Ka Swayamwar” for around three minutes before becoming violently ill.

Moovie of the Year

Just when you thought Hollywood couldn’t sink any deeper than Snakes on a Submarine

Just when you thought Operation YouTube was this year’s EPIC WIN…

Just when you thought the planet and your brain were saturated with WTF…

MAD COW – THE MOVIE

Intrigue, Romance, Cattle…

The question is not whether the planet can deliver. The question is – Can you handle it, bitches?

Two excellent fitness blogs

There are a lot of fitness blogs out there. Here are two that I read regularly and can recommend:

fitsugar

Fitsugar is geared towards women but it has excellent advice on fitness and diet that is applicable to either sex. With regular updates and genuinely useful tips, Fitsugar is a one of the best fitness blogs out there.

fbb

The Fitness Black Book is written by Rusty Moore who caters to, in his words, “people who would rather look like a Hollywood Sex Symbol -VS- a massive bodybuilder.”

If you prefer a lean look to a beefy one, The Fitness Black Book has some great advice for you.

Ghostery watches the sites that watch you

Ghostery is a Firefox extension that may appeal to those who are concerned about online privacy. It shows you the hidden scripts that track your behaviour (click tracking) running on the site you’ve visited.

This is a screenshot of a tech blog, Labnol - as you can see, the author is running seven different scripts.

Search multiple Rapidshare search engines with a single Firefox keyword

1. Create a new bookmark in Firefox

2. Cut and paste the following javascript in the Location field

javascript:void(window.open('http://rapidshare-search-engine.com/index.php?start=0&sformval=1&rval=286162863&s=%s&s_type=0&what=1'));void(window.open('http://www.oneclickfiles.com/search?c=&q=%s'));void(window.open('http://megadownload.net/search.html?keyword=%s&server%5B%5D=megaupload.com&server%5B%5D=rapidshare.com'));void(window.open('http://www.filecrop.com/en/searching.php?w=%s&opt_t=1&upserver%5B%5D=mu.com&upserver%5B%5D=rs.com&upserver%5B%5D=4s.com&upserver%5B%5D=badongo.com&size_i=0&size_f=1048576&pos=0'));void(window.open('http://rapid.tvphp.net/?q=%s&filetype=0'));void(window.open('http://www.filestube.com/search.html?q=%s&select=All'));void(window.open('http://rs.4chan.org/?s=%s'));void(window.open('http://www.rapidsharedata.com/tag/%s/'));void(window.open('http://rapidlibrary.com/index.php?q=%s&filetype=0'));

3. Assign a keyword to the bookmark, something like rapid or rapidshare

4. In the address bar type your keyword followed by the search terms (Eg: rapid ebook ) and press enter, hit the go button. The search engines should open up in multiple tabs (or windows if you haven't got single window mode (recommended) enabled).

The same technique can be used to search any category of bookmarks. The example below searches three leading medical information sites:

javascript:void(window.open('http://vsearch.nlm.nih.gov/vivisimo/cgi-bin/query-meta?v%3Aproject=medlineplus&query=%s'));void(window.open('http://www.webmd.com/search/search_results/default.aspx?query=%s&sourceType=undefined'));void(window.open('https://ssl.search.live.com/health/results.aspx?br=hv&qu=%s'))

Let me know in the comments if there's a better way of doing this, add-ons that use Firefox (Mycroft Project) search engines are not an option as they add to clutter and engines are not available for all sites.

PS: I urge you to use this only to download legit stuff... perhaps mayonnaise recipes?
